TechNet DK Advent Calendar 23. December

It’s nearly Christmas and today you’ll have my last question in this TechNet DK Calendar. Thanks to Microsoft, it’s allways a pleasure to help.

Topic: Windows Server 8 Availability

Todays questions: In Windows Server 8 you’ll be able to move a share from one cluster node to another without any client outages. The protocol involved has been around for a long time, but has now, again, been updated.

  1. What is the protocol name?
  2. What is the new version of the protocol?

Have a nice day and merry christmas to all of you!

TechNet DK Advent Calendar 16. December

Good morning,

While we’re all waiting for the upcoming beta of Windows Server 8 and Windows 8, we can get a sneak peak of what we can expect from the new Windows Server at http://www.buildwindows.com. The answer for todays question can also be found at technet.com.

Topic: Windows Server 8 Hyper-V

Todays questions:

  1. My last question in this Advent Calendar was about concurrent live migrations and storage migrations in Hyper-V 3.0. Windows Server 8 is truely an operation system made for the cloud 😉 but what kind of shared storage is needed to perform live- and storage migrations?
  2. Where is the pre-release of Windows Server 8 available for download?

UPDATE: Todays winner is………Jesper Østerdal, Hoffmann A/S

Correct answer: Hyper-V in Windows Server 8 does not require shared storage and Windows Server 8 can be downloaded from MSDN.

Have a nice day 😉
